Oxalis Triangularis, created by my electroacoustic trio Apply Triangle, is a triple album project born from the resilience of artists continuing to create during a global pandemic. It stands as a testament to the flexibility and creativity made possible through electroacoustic composition.
Developed through a call for scores in the summer of 2020, Oxalis Triangularis features 33 new works specifically written to be recorded in a fully remote setting. Across three albums, Apply Triangle not only showcases the innovative techniques of 33 living composers but also highlights the cultural nuances embedded in each composer’s unique style.
For me, the albums were created over four years of deep isolation, both physical and mental. When they were released, a wisp of smoke floated by—a fragment of the self, so light yet so heavy.

We are deeply honored to have been selected as a 2022 recipient of Chamber Music America’s Ensemble Forward grant.
“At a glance, the scale of this remarkable triptych is overwhelming, with well over two hours of music representing a diverse cross-section of fresh contemporary voices. But each entry proves an engaging and worthwhile listen and never grows monotonous. There is a broad range of stylistic choices that give strong variety to the possible use of electronics, from recorded samples to live effects processing and post-production manipulation…
